Lycée Français de Manille & the College Board: Diversifying the Educational Offer of the American International Section and Expanding Opportunities in France and Abroad:
The American International Section of the Lycée Français de Manille, open to students from first grade onward, is designed for students who wish to strengthen their English proficiency while evolving in a demanding and stimulating academic environment.
Leading to the Diplôme National du Brevet International (DNBi) and later to the French International Baccalaureate (BFI), this excellence-oriented pathway goes far beyond language learning. As part of an ambitious linguistic and cultural policy, the International Section fosters analytical thinking, independence, critical thinking, and oral fluency, while preparing students to meet both French and international academic standards.
As a school offering the French International Baccalaureate (BFI), the LFM had the honor of welcoming Haike Zhao, Associate Director at the College Board, on May 20, 2026. This meeting, marked by academic dynamism and international openness, provided an opportunity for enriching discussions for our students regarding new academic pathways and higher education prospects. The discussions between Mr. Zhao, Mr. Bois, our Headmaster, Ms. Davison, Coordinator of the International Section, and Ms. Salama, Mathematics Teacher, helped further define the connections between our curriculum and the College Board’s academic standards.
These exchanges also made it possible to formalize avenues for enhancing the BFI curriculum proposal, particularly in the sciences, reflecting a shared commitment to preparing students as effectively as possible for the demands of higher education in France and internationally.
