FRANCE-PHILIPPINES UNITED ACTION FOUNDATION

FRANCE-PHILIPPINES UNITED ACTION

France-Philippines United Action Foundation (FPUA) is a Philippine, non-governmental, non-political and non-confessional humanitarian organization founded in 2015.

Following typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in 2013, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines and the French Embassy created a platform to coordinate the rehabilitation efforts by French companies, and with that the France-Philippines United Action was born.

In order to have a bigger impact and to rebuild the lives of the survivors, the French businesses converged and worked collectively in raising and consolidating the funds into the building of permanent houses. Three housing rehabilitation projects were built in Northern Cebu (Daanbantayan and Bogo) for the victims of typhoon Haiyan and now accommodate more than 1200 beneficiaries.

The Foundation implements projects for the betterment and sustainability of the communities living on the rehabilitation sites. For instance, the continuous support given to students through the educational assistance sponsorship program gives them an access to excellent secondary education to contribute in upgrading the education level and break the cycle of poverty in their families.

France-Philippines United Action Foundation also partners with international and local organizations to implement health missions to provide free health care and sustainable livelihood projects to enhance the community’s well-being.

Until today, with the support of its company partners, support for the three FPUA communities continuous to exist with the objective of helping them achieve self-sustainability through programs in education, health, livelihood and environment.
