On July 2, Tuesday, Airbus formalized its record-breaking deal of P1.4 Trillion with local airline, Cebu Pacific. Based on the signed MOU, the commercial aviation giant is expected to provide a total of 152 planes, including 102 A321 new engine option (neo) aircraft, and 50 A320 neo aircraft.

This purchase was made in line with the expected air travel demand growth in the Philippines, providing the Airline with maximum flexibility to adapt fleet growth to market conditions—switching between A321neo and A320neo.

The first set of aircrafts is expected to be delivered by 2027 and will be completely delivered by late 2035. Though the deal is currently in its preliminary stages, Airbus is expected to close its transaction with Cebu Pacific during the third quarter of the year.

Airbus is a European multinational aerospace corporation that manufactures commercial aircraft. Considered to be one of the aerospace giants dominating the industry, they manufacture innovative aircraft in Europe and are at the forefront of the aviation industry.
