The Philippines faces a monumental challenge, generating over 2.7 million tons of plastic waste annually. However, where some see a crisis, others see an incredible opportunity for innovation, economic growth, and environmental stewardship.
The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines (CCIFP), alongside the France-Philippines United Action (FPUA), is proud to support Plastic Odyssey and Makesense Asia as they launch a dedicated incubation program designed to reshape the country’s waste landscape: the Makesense Circle Academy.
If you are a green entrepreneur ready to flip the script on plastic waste, this is your sign to scale up.
What is the Makesense Circle Academy?
The Makesense Circle Academy is an intensive, 18-month incubation program tailored specifically for aspiring and emerging recycling enterprises. Focused on critical hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR), CALABARZON, and Cebu, this initiative provides local innovators with the tools, technology, and capital needed to build sustainable, scalable circular businesses.
The program places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, and women- and youth-led teams are highly encouraged to apply.
Whether you are harboring a bold, untested idea or you already have a functional prototype up and running, the academy has a dedicated pathway for you.

Empowering a Greener Filipino Economy
This vital initiative is a key component of the EU-PH Green Economy Partnership: Green Business, Infrastructure, and Finance. Funded by a P3.67 billion (€60 million) grant from the European Union, this priority program operates under the EU’s Global Gateway initiative.
Led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), implemented by Expertise France, co-led by the DTI Philippines, and co-implemented with the GGGI Philippines, the partnership bridges European and Filipino private sectors and local governments to accelerate a sustainable transition without sacrificing economic momentum.
