Manila, Philippines – The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines attended the recently-concluded Grand Launching of the ATA Carnet accreditation in the Philippines last July 15, 2024 at Maynila Ballroom, Manila Hotel.
The ATA Carnet, also known as the “Passport for Goods,” is set to revolutionize the country’s trade and commerce landscape. It is an international customs document that allows the temporary importation of goods without the need to pay customs duties and taxes. This system is recognized by over 80 countries and territories, facilitating the duty-free and tax-free importation of goods for up to one year.
Businesses in the Philippines can now enjoy streamlined processes for temporary imports. The ATA Carnet will cover a wide range of goods, including commercial samples, professional equipment, and goods for exhibitions and fairs. This will significantly reduce the administrative burden and costs associated with cross-border trade.
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is the official national guaranteeing organization for ATA Carnet accreditation in the country. This significant development has already come into effect on the same day of the launch.
